Biola Soccer Team Kneels During Torrey Conference Commissioning

Last night, as Glenn Packiam delivered the commissioning prayer that would lead into Torrey Conference, the Biola men's soccer team linked arms and took a knee.

"As NCAA athletes, it's outrageous that we are expected to attend as many chapel credits as everyone else," said Corey Matthews, captain of the soccer team, "It's unfair; it's outrageous. We're fighting not just for ourselves, but for every student athlete."

The protests have been met with mixed reactions. While many have supported the players, many others have taken a point of contention with the players.

"Them soccer players should stand for commissioning. Who do they think they are?" said Zac DeCharr, "They have no right. It's like I always say, stand for commissioning, kneel before the United States' flag!"

Many of those who vehemently disagree with the soccer team have taken to burning their Biola merchandise and calling for an all out boycott of all of the soccer team's games. Whether you agree or not, it is clear, the soccer team has got us talking.
