Tapingo To Feature Room Service Delivery

Biola Students love the handy smartphone app Tapingo as it provides an efficient way to order and pick up food all while skipping long lines in between classes. In efforts to continue catering to students, Biola’s on campus eateries will be trying out a new delivery service, Tapingo Delivery, which will be effective on Feb. 10. Students will be able to select their room number while placing their order through Tapingo. Upon completion of the order, each student’s food will be hand delivered to their room within 5 to 10 minutes. Due to a failure to acquire any segways from Campus Safety, Tapingo Delivery will use the two WeCars to deliver the order.

“It's really nice when I'm studying and can't spend time to walk to the Caf all the way from Stewart,” Senior JJ Carroll said. “It can be such a pain to walk all the way from my dorm to Eagles, and now I don’t have to break a sweat!”

Delivery hours are set to run during open hours in order to test the service for the first couple of weeks. Tapingo Delivery will expand its hours if it meets the popularity quota of 300 users.

Students and Faculty members can also get orders delivered to class. “Sometimes, I don’t have a break in between classes to get food,” Professor Jeffrey Volkmer said. “I’m so glad Eagles Nest is able to deliver right after I teach Hebrew!”

It is important to note that student workers will be expecting a tip with each delivery.
