Chick-fil-A Now Open On Sundays
On Nov. 14th, restaurant chain Chick-fil-A announced in a press conference that their La Habra location on Imperial Highway will alter the store hours to be open on Sundays, starting this coming week.
“We’ve received a lot of input regarding our decision to close on Sundays,” a representative said. “After discussing the idea in length with our corporate office, we have decided to open this restaurant on Sundays.”
RESTAURANT TO BE OPEN ON SUNDAYS, CLOSED REST OF THE WEEK
The Atlanta-based restaurant chain has traditionally closed its doors on Sundays because of the founder’s religious beliefs. Chick-fil-A owners today say they have not forgotten the reason for this.
“We realize that it is important to give our employees an opportunity to rest, spend time with family and friends, and worship if they choose to do so,” a company representative said. “However, we have decided that any day of the week is fit for this purpose, not only Sundays.”
As a result, the Chick-fil-A in La Habra will be closed Monday through Saturday, but will be open for a full 24 hours on Sunday.
“Projected analysis of sandwich sales predicts that being open on Sundays will give us an incredible increase in profit,” the representative said. “We are hoping this increase will be enough to close for the remainder of the week and still outperform sales before the change.”
BIOLA STUDENTS CREDITED WITH THE CHANGE
Many Biola students have filed suggestions to the La Habra location to induce the change. Experts believe this is due to being repeatedly turned away from Chick-fil-A after showing up to the restaurant after church ends.
“I’m really glad Chick-fil-A will be open on Sundays,” senior Will Pearce said. “I’ll definitely be going there after church from now on.”
Managers at the La Habra Chick-fil-A are hoping that their reform to store hours will catch on and spread to other Chick-fil-A locations as well.
