Legendary Rap Trio Run DBC to Reunite for Three Week Reunion Tour

Dr. Barry Corey, Todd Pickett, and Chad Miller have announced on the Run DBC Facebook page that they will be reuniting for a three week reunion tour. The band has been on hiatus since 2002 and it seemed doubtful that the group would ever get back together.

"There were many things that led to us calling it quits," said Chad Miller in a 2003 interview with Eagle Vision, "Todd and I were fed up with Barry. Todd made the beats and I wrote the lyrics. We wrote all the songs for the group. Now there's no doubt that Barry was the best rapper of us all and made a great frontman. Todd and I will be the first to admit that, but when we found out Barry was planning a solo album, that's when the problems arose."

"Then Todd wanted to take our band in a whole different direction. He wanted to take us to experimental levels. Todd insisted that we try infusing prog-rock with our hip-hop. I was not about that. I just wanted us to keep making the music that we had been making. It's what the fans wanted."

Their first album, "Joyful Noize," was met with critical and commercial success, even winning the group their first Dove Award.

"'Joyful Noize' is a perfect assimilation of hip hop and R&B. From Chad Millers soothing voice on the track 'Giving Tree,' to Dr. Barry Corey's fabulous rapping on 'Parking Ticket,' this album shows off Run DBC's range," wrote Jenny Sandson in a 2001 Chimes article.

The tour begins at the end of January 2017, and continues through mid-February. Tickets will be available for purchase on October 20.
