Biola to add Prayer Walk Lane

This semester, Biola students were introduced to bike lanes that run from Horton Hall to Talbot East. However, cyclists are not going to be the only using these lanes. On March 5, 2014 it was confirmed that Spiritual Development will be adding a lane to clearly define the route of Biola’s prayer walk. The walk is a collection of red signs dedicated to sharing the future needs of the university.

“The prayer walk has met moderate success since its introduction, but the project definitely has some room for growth,” Prayer Walk monitor Typheni Stephens said. “We hope that this new addition clarifies the actual route.”

To indicate the prayer walk, pairs of red lines will be painted next to the bike lanes. The pathway will begin at the Student Union Building, weave through Metzger Lawn, and eventually bring spiritual patrons to McNally Field.

“It reminds me a bit of the tram lanes in Wall-E,” Creek Park SMU President Bohemoth Jarles said.

For now, Campus Safety has been fairly lenient with allowing students to walk inside the bike path. However, when the prayer walk lane is added later this month, officers will be present to reinforce pathway policy. Anyone not sufficiently seeking God or His vision for Biola will be forcefully removed from lane. Fine amounts could range anywhere from $50 to $200.
