SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES - LOT F

Feb. 6, 3:37 a.m.

Campus Safety received an anonymous tip that the Fluor Fountain would stop working on Friday. The information turned out to be correct, and the Fluor Fountain did not turn back on until Monday morning. The case is undergoing investigation, although Campus Safety does not believe there is any immediate threat to student safety.

PETTY THEFT - STEWART HALL

Feb. 7, 9:01 a.m.

A student reported three potted plants as missing from their dorm room. They are believed to have been stolen as the student estimates the plants as worth more then $300. The case is still under investigation.

DISTURBING THE PEACE - HORTON HALL

Feb. 14, 6:09 p.m.

A student claimed that the Valentine’s Day holiday was disturbing his peace on Friday. Campus Safety acknowledged the complaint and spent the remainder of the evening breaking up couples that they found on Biola’s campus. Plans are underway to change Valentine’s Day to July 14th so less students will be affected by this issue in the future.

LITTERING – DOWNTOWN BIOLA

Feb. 18, 11:14 p.m.

Campus Safety stopped a group of students from “covering the night” near Common Grounds on Tuesday night. The students called themselves “millennials” to identify them as supporters of the Botka•Fu campaign for Creek Park Presidents as they posted flyers. The flyers contained a photograph of nominees Kevin Botka and Zachary Fu, along with the tagline “Vote Botka•Fu.”

FRAUD - STUDENT UNION BUILDING

Feb. 20, 11:59 p.m.

The Creek Park Presidential nominees Botka•Fu were found to have falsified seven votes during the election. They were consequently disqualified from the presidential race and taken into custody by Campus Safety. Biola’s Associated Students will release a press statement on Feb. 22, although experts believe that without a president to lead the community, Biola will lose jurisdiction of Creek Park.

IDENTITY THEFT - THOMPSON HALL

Feb. 25, 10:51 a.m.

A student claimed to be a Campus Safety officer while he was being apprehended by Campus Safety, and accused the officer of being an impostor. The student then arrested the false Campus Safety officer and turned him in to the La Mirada Sheriff’s Department. In what may be acute confusion, the victim is preparing to press charges against himself.

ARSON - HOPE HALL

Feb. 29, 8:45 p.m.

A student was charged with arson as she lit two different candles in her dorm room while studying. The RA for the floor reported the incident to Campus Safety, who apprehended the subject and later came back to blow out the candles.
