Biola’s World of Color Debuts On Campus

An exciting new nighttime spectacular has arrived on campus. A collaboration between Biola Admissions, University Communications and Marketing, and the Center for Christianity, Culture and the Arts has spawned a show which illuminates the waters of the Fluor Fountain of Faith.

The show is speculated to be a public relations cover up for negative publicity caused by the recent discovery of the fountain's ability to give eternal youth.

Modeled after “World of Color” at the Disneyland Resort, the team behind Biola’s version of the dancing waters wanted to bring an entertainment value to the university that would amuse students on weekends and attract prospective students to the campus.

“We wanted to take the best World of Color has to offer and bring it home to our very own Fluor Fountain,” student ambassador Erik Buchterkirchen said.

A WONDERFUL WORLD OF COLOR

Some students have questioned whether or not the new show is to be considered a “Random Act of Culture.”

Originally planned to be released next spring, Event Services was able to install the show sooner than expected, allowing for the show to premiere during finals week, a much needed distraction for students.

Unfortunately, not all stages of the project were as successful. Initially, funding for the show was met with strong criticism as it was not seen as critical to the community. Total costs for the project came in at a whopping $300,000. Also, pressure buildup from the fountains were said to have caused the plumbing problems in Sigma Hall.

The nighttime spectacular is scheduled to run Friday-Sunday nights at 8pm. Further tests and extended sequences are planned to take place during Interterm.
