Jared To Replace Bookstore

Many noteworthy changes are occurring around Biola's campus, but few have been more noticeable than the dismantling of Biola's campus bookstore. For days, students have been left perplexed at the depleted inventory and vast empty shelves. But on Wednesday Nov. 13, a facilities spokesperson set the record straight, announcing that the bookstore would be replaced by a Jared, The Galleria of Jewelry.

The extreme popularity of SingleEagles.com, Biola’s first online dating site, gave Biola officials an estimate of the probable success a Jared store would have on campus. After calculating profits, it was predicted that Jared would bring in at least twice as much revenue as the bookstore. After a unanimous vote, it was decided that the bookstore was no longer relevant.

The jewelry store is scheduled to open in 2014 and will hopefully provide a quick and convenient way for Biola students to acquire a ring by as soon as next spring. This is pleasant news for the many Biola couples who currently find themselves in the "engaged to be engaged" stage of their relationships.

The store will be "committed to providing an exhaustive selection of diamonds and gemstones for every person's taste and budget,” according to an email from a Jared regional spokesperson.

IT CAN ONLY BE JARED

Jared is known for its high quality diamonds and gemstones and Biola administrators were adamant about getting no less than the best.

“Biola is such an awesome community and it definitely deserves Jared,” said SingleEagles founder Robert Carlson.

With the cheapest rings starting as low as $14.95, there is little doubt that they will live up to their promise.

JARED ALREADY RECEIVING POSITIVE FEEDBACK

Most students have responded well to the announcement. "I welcome the change" said Taylor Eisenach, a junior who's pursuing her MRS in Marriage and Family Administration. "I think having the store in walking distance will really benefit those who live on campus without a car."

With studies suggesting that 85% of relationships end before a ring is given, Jared hopes that the coming accessibility of these cheap bands of eternal commitment will drastically bring those numbers down, and help make Biola a premiere one-stop marriage destination.
