Iron Chef Biola
ALLEZ CUSINE!
The television show, Iron Chef Biola, has returned for a second season on The Bells Network. The popular cooking show is a spinoff of Food Network’s Iron Chef America, which is a spinoff of the original Japanese version, Iron Chef. Biola’s version of the contest features one Biola student against Iron Chef David Talley, Iron Chef Joanne Jung, or Iron Chef Chris Grace. Contestants are given 15 minutes to create two succulent dishes, which are then evaluated by three experienced Bon Appetit judges. The season opener is scheduled to air on Nov. 10 at 8:00pm, PST.
The show’s phenomenal first season success of nearly 4,000 viewers per episode ranked it the most watched Biola web-series of all time. A second season of the show was undoubtedly expected, but not without some controversy.
NEW SEASON NUMBERS EXPECTED TO INCREASE
Some television critics predict that the show will suffer from “The Matrix Syndrome,” a term derived from the failed attempts of sequels to The Matrix movie. Critics fear that it will be impossible for Iron Chef Biola to satisfy the expectations set by the first season. Despite this, recent polls have suggested that the second season opener could boast roughly 6,000 viewers, which is more than any of the episodes from the first season.
A special Iron Chef Biola event is also scheduled for the new season. It will feature Dr. Thoennes, President Corey, and Todd Pickett in a free for all battle to become the next Biola Iron Chef.
